The Gates Scholarship

Eligibility Requirements: Applicants must be a high school senior from one of the following ethnicities: African-American, American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian & Pacific Islander, and/or Hispanic American. Applicants must also be a resident of one of the 50 states or the District of Columbia. Scholarship funds will be mailed directly to the college or university the winner attends and may only be used toward educational expenses and book fees. Applicants must have at least a weighted “B” grade average (or 3.0 GPA) during grades 9, 10, and 11. Applicants must also participate in at least one of the sports recognized by the International Olympic Committee in the Summer and Winter Olympic Games, the Paralympic Games, or the National Federation of State High School Associations. Eligibility Requirements: Applicants must be a full time resident of South Carolina and a senior in a public or private high school or home school in South Carolina. They must complete the entire online application, attach a current photograph (preferably a senior class photo), and must attend a SC public or private college, university or technical college.
Nemec Abbott Foundation Scholarship
Award: Full 4-year scholarship to 1 high school senior in each high school in Florence 1. A full 2-year scholarship will also be awarded to 6 high school seniors who want to pursue an associate degree at a technical college. Full Scholarships include tuition, books, and on-campus room/board, less any other scholarship money received.

McLeod Health Youth Apprenticeship

Eligibility Requirements: This program is designed to help high school students with the unique opportunity to gain hands-on, real-world experience while completing their education. Application is open to rising high school juniors and seniors who have the ability to commit to the program schedule to include school and work hours. Students will be required to complete an on-site interview for vetting. The Coolidge Scholarship
Award: Full-ride, presidential scholarship that covers a student's tuition, room, board, and expenses for 4-years of undergraduate study.

Eligibility Requirements:
- 2024-25 Coolidge Scholarship applicants must intend to enroll full-time at an accredited U.S. college or university as an undergraduate for the first time in fall 2026. That is to say, students in their junior year of high school, or the equivalent if home schooled, are eligible to apply. (Students who are currently high school juniors but take some courses at a local college are indeed eligible to apply for the Coolidge Scholarship.)
- 2024-25 Coolidge Scholarship applicants must be citizens or legal permanent residents of the United States of America by the 2024-25 scholarship deadline.
- 2024-25 Coolidge Scholarship applicants cannot be the immediate family member of any current employee, trustee, or significant donor to the Calvin Coolidge Presidential Foundation or the Calvin Coolidge Presidential Fund. (Note: Significant donor is defined as one with lifetime giving in excess of $25,000).
